Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^

My friends from the internets, artists and art appreciators,

I owe you this journal. If you missed me or my work, care to read on.

As you might have noticed, I haven't been active on DA for almost a month now. I also haven't created any art in that period. I've come to a crossroads in life, and I'm unsure which path to take. I realize now that all this time on DA I haven't been creating art at all, merely just practicing techniques and sharpening skills (nothing wrong with that, of course).

I'm sorry I hadn't written this disclaimer of sorts sooner and I must stress I'm very thankful for all the faves, comments and watchlist adds I haven't replied to.

I'll probably scrap my gallery and start over when I decide to create art again. I will remain true to myself and reach deep within to bring the world serene art, made out of love, meaningful and consistent. I will keep practicing new forms of expression and keep it awesome at the same time.

I will also change my online habits a little, meaning I'll be spending less time online and more time living and working. I will answer comments/notes that have questions and ones that I deem necessary to reply to. I will appreciate all of them.

That pretty much sums things up for now.

I wish you all the best life can give, and a happy healthy living.

I don't think a crossroads needs to be a bad thing though, I hope you get a lot out of taking the time to find what works for you. I hope you don't scrap your gallery in too much of a hurry (don't dismiss your work so quickly, if you learnt something from it and it helped you grow then it's worth something).
